The 1st of July is acknowledging as National Doctor’s day to memorialize the contributions put forward by doctors to mankind. Here goes a saying which clearly makes us understand the importance of our gratitude towards doctors.

ABOUT DR. B.C ROY
India celebrates 1 July as National Doctors’ Day in honor of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, who was a physician, philanthropist, educationist and social worker, who also served as Chief Minister of West Bengal.
Widely known for providing quality health services available to common people, he played an important role in the creation of two prestigious and popular medical institutions in the country — the Indian Medical Association in 1928 and also the Medical Council of India in 1934 under the Act of 1933.
He was born on 1 July 1882 in Patna and died on July 1 in 1962. He has contributed greatly to the Indian medical system.
The Government of India honored him with the Bharat Ratna, in 1961. Moreover, the B.C. Roy National Award was initiated in 1976 in the streams of medicine, science, philosophy, arts and so on.
NATIONAL DOCTOR’S DAY CELEBRATION IN INDIA
Each year National Doctor’s day is organized with a theme. Free medical camps and test camps are conducted across the country. Similar activities are organized in schools and colleges as well.
